The Under 10s kicked off the season with a 4-2 defeat at Deighton on a wet morning. After going 4 goals down to a very strong team, Birchencliffe recovered and were much the stronger team in the second half. Seb Dodsley ran the length of the pitch to smash a stunning goal past the keeper, and Danny Cahill put in the rebound after Taylor Finley smashed a shot which was well saved. Other chances went begging but the lads couldn't quite get back into the game. Shay Clarke gave a man of the match performance in defence.

Last time these two teams met in the league the game finished 14-0 to Deighton, so this game shows how much the Under 10s have improved. With several new players just finding their feet, there is much more to come from this team.
